South Corvallis Food Bank COVID-19 Response Updated 6/4/22

If You Need Food

The South Corvallis Food Bank will remain open during its normal hours:

        Monday            1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
        Wednesday      1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
        Thursday          5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
        Saturday         10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

We are continuing to require all volunteers and clients to wear masks. We will stop requiring masks no later than when Oregon healthcare facilities stop requiring masks.

We are continuing to operate in our transition mode. We are offering shopping selection off our shelves. If you do not wish to wear a mask, you may not enter the food bank to shop. We will provide you with a packed box of food.

You will be asked to check in and wait outside the food bank. For the protection of our volunteers and other shoppers, please wear a mask while at the food bank. Masks are available free of charge at the check in table if you don't have one.

After you have checked in, you will be invited in to shop with a volunteer. All volunteers have been vaccinated.

We are carefully following COVID numbers. We will return to indoor check in and waiting when it seems safe to do so.

We have currently waived the limit of one full shop per month. You are welcome to come once a week for a full selection of  food.

When possible, we ask that you leave most household members at home and only one person come to the food bank to pick up your food.

If you are a member of a vulnerable population, self-isolating, or in quarantine, we can offer delivery via Dial-a-bus. Call (541) 753-4263 or email delivery@southcorvallisfoodbank.org.

Donations needed

We currently have a good selection of food, but we could use:

condiments (mayo, salad dressing, ketchup, salsa, etc.)
hearty soups (chicken noodle, beef and veggie, etc.)
crackers, chips and other salty snacks
gluten free items (especially pasta)
can openers
personal care items:
        feminine hygiene products
        baby wipes
        toothpaste/toothbrushes
        soap
        shampoo
        laundry detergent
        dish soap
diapers (sizes newborn, 5 thru 7, and pull-ups)
        paper towels
        toilet paper

We also always welcome donations of fresh produce from your garden and backyard eggs.

When donating canned items, pop-tops are always preferable for those without can openers. We cannot accept bulk or home-canned items.

Plastic, paper with handles or clean reusable grocery bags are very useful for those who come on foot, bike, or by bus.

Donations may be dropped off at the food bank during our open hours. Please do not leave donations outside our door when we are not there. Items become damaged by weather or animals.

Volunteers welcome

We always welcome new volunteers.

Volunteers are needed to host clients:

        Monday            12:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
        Wednesday      12:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
        Thursday          4:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
        Saturday           9:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Youth ages 12 and up are welcome with their guardian's permission.

All volunteers must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

We do a brief training as required at the beginning of each shift. Since there is training involved, we are seeking volunteers who would intend to volunteer multiple times over the next few months. We do understand everyone's life is unpredictable at this point, so we don't expect a firm commitment, just a general intention to volunteer more than once.
