South Corvallis Food Bank COVID-19 Response Updated 3/1/2021

If You Need Food

The South Corvallis Food Bank will remain open during its normal hours:

        Monday            1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
        Wednesday      1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
        Thursday          5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
        Saturday         10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

Stone Soup is currently distributing hot meals from the food bank during the following hours:

        Tuesday           5:15pm  - 6:15pm
        Thursday         5:15pm  - 6:15pm
        Saturday        10:00am - 11:00am

We have changed our procedures for the duration of this public health crisis.

You will be asked to wait outside the food bank. For the protection of our volunteers, please wear a mask while at the food bank. Masks are available free of charge at the checkin table if you don't have one.

We regret we will not be offering shopping selection for shelf-stable items. You will receive a pre-packed box of these items. We will accommodate special dietary needs as much as we can. You will be able to indicate your preferences for refrigerated and frozen items as well as your bread and produce.

A volunteer will bring your food outside to you.

If you come by car, please take the entire box. We want to minimize the number of people congregating in our parking lot at any one time. We understand there may be items in the box that you will not use. Share them with friends and neighbors or return them to us the next month.

When possible, we ask that you leave most household members at home and only one person come to the food bank to pick up your food.

We will continue to offer a selection of bread, produce, and a few shelf-stable extras for weekly shoppers. You will indicate your choices to a volunteer who will bring the items outside to you.

If you are a member of a vulnerable population, self-isolating, or in quarantine, we can offer delivery via Dial-a-bus. Call (541) 753-4263 or email

Donations needed

We currently have a decent selection of food, but we could use:

canned vegetables
condiments (mustard, mayo, salad dressing, etc.)
instant side dishes (rice-a-roni, tuna helper, stuffing, etc.)
pet food, especially cat food
personal care items:
        toilet paper
        feminine hygiene products
diapers (sizes newborn, 5 and 6 and pull-ups)
        baby wipes
        laundry detergent
        dish soap
        paper towels

When donating canned items, pop-tops are always preferable for those without can openers. We cannot accept bulk or home-canned items.

Plastic, paper with handles or clean reusable grocery bags are very useful for those who come on foot, bike, or by bus.

Donations may be dropped off at the food bank during our open hours. Please do not leave donations outside our door when we are not there. Items become damaged by weather or animals.

Volunteers welcome

Many of our loyal volunteers are over 60, making them members of a vulnerable population and unable to serve during this public health crisis. Lots of students and community members have stepped forward to fill the gaps. If you are healthy and have free time, we could use a few more volunteers.

Volunteers are needed to pack boxes:
         Mondays 10am-noon
         Thursdays 2pm-4pm.

Volunteers are also needed to pack boxes and take groceries outside to clients:

        Monday            12:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
        Wednesday      12:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
        Thursday          4:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
        Saturday           9:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Youth ages 12 and up are welcome with their guardian's permission.

We do a brief training as required at the beginning of each shift. Since there is training involved, we are seeking volunteers who would intend to volunteer multiple times over the next few months. We do understand everyone's life is unpredictable at this point, so we don't expect a firm commitment, just a general intention to volunteer more than once.
